Was Meghan Markle the only royal to cry at Queen’s funeral? Internet is divided

Meghan Markle fans have created a divide on the internet after claiming she was the only member of the royal family to cry at Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral.

Nonetheless, many of the images clearly showed other members of the royal family crying as well. The Duchess of Sussex was seen and captured wiping away a tear during the Queen’s funeral ceremony, held at Westminster Abbey on September 19.

A Twitter user (@SussexDetective) had posted the photo of Meghan wiping away her tears and claimed she was the only member of the Royal Family to cry for the Queen. However, the user disabled the option to reply to the contentious tweet.

Nonetheless, the claim did not sit well with all netizens as it sparked furor on the microblogging platform. Several Twitter users then began posting photos of other royals, over which they could be seen crying. Many images from the funeral showed King Charles III crying as he gazed at his mother’s coffin at the abbey.

Apart from royalty, family members of tennis players have also shown their support for their halves during matches.

Here’s a look at who took to the courtroom stand.

As Prince Edward tried to cover his tears with a handkerchief, his wife, Duchess of Wessex, Sophie, was caught sobbing outdoors. Prince George and Prince Andrew were no different, and they were also seen crying on the way to Westminster. Additionally, Queen Consort Camilia also broke down at the Queen’s funeral.

While several people supported Meghan, many of her comments criticized her. One user wrote that Meghan was crying after destroying the “queen’s final years”. Meghan should be ‘ashamed’ of herself and her ‘forced tear’ means ‘NOTHING’, the user said.

Karl Stefanovic, the Today show host, also wondered about the Duchess of Sussex’s tears. Karl said Meghan was “apparently” crying. Meghan Markle is the wife of the Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry.
